On behalf of the parents, players, and coaches on the Falcons Girls 16U team, we would like to thank everyone who graciously donated to the Gina Bronge Memorial Scholarship Fund on March 9, 2008. The game was a huge success with a standing room only crowd at the Centennial Ice Arena in Highland Park. This event raised approximately $3,000 that will be awarded to future female hockey players who demonstrate hustle, desire, and passion towards this great sport.
The 1st Annual Gina Bronge Memorial Hockey Game featured the Falcons Girls 16 team against the Lake County Hosers- a group of firemen and police officers from various departments in Lake County. The Falcons Girls 16U team won 5-4 in a shoot-out with Jeanna Dudley and Taylor Halpert scoring the game ending goals.
After the game, the first Gina Bronge Memorial Scholarships were announced. Congratulations to the following winners! Willa Deboom, Connor Denton, Hanna Fritz, Samantha Gallagher, Jessica Gould, Logan Harper, Caroline Knop, Kyra Mangasarian, Julia Muscarello, Ariel Pontikes, and Kennedy Stein.
The Falcons Girls 16U team would like to extend our greatest appreciation to the Lake County Hosers. These fine gentlemen donated their time, money, signed jersey and stick to a great cause!
In addition, a special thanks goes out to the Centennial Ice Arena Staff, Falcons Ice Scheduler, Dave Putlak, and referees Beth Baron, Matt Bleck, and Peter Gruenes for their assistance in hosting this game.
