Parents of all hockey players in the Falcons Hockey Association should be familiar with the following Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois (AHAI) player and team rules. All Falcons travel teams are TIER II teams except the 1/2 yr. Mite A2 Developmental Travel teams and Girls travel teams.
1. No player may be rostered or play on more than one AHAI TIER II team during the same playing season. The only exception to this rule applies to goalies within the Falcons Hockey Association. The Falcons registrar has more details on double rostering rules for goalies.
2. No AHAI player, team, or member shall:
A. Play any Illinois team that is not a member of AHAI and USA Hockey.
B. Participate in any game, practice, or event with which a person or entity suspended by AHAI and/or USA Hockey is participating or involved.
C. Use any player not properly rostered to its team, and may not play any team using a player not properly rostered to the team it plays.
D. Not participate in any event that is not sanctioned by either AHAI or USA Hockey.
3. A “Travel Permit†is required for any AHAI team leaving the state of Illinois. The Falcons registrar has more details on travel permit rules.
4. A Canadian/USA Hockey Travel Permit is required for all AHAI teams traveling to Canada. Playing/traveling to Canada during the months of May, June, July, August is NOT sanctioned by USA Hockey. Traveling to Canada after April 30th will void your USA Hockey member benefits.
5. An ‘International Travel Permit†is required for AHAI teams traveling to a foreign country other than Canada.
6. Players participating in 3 on 3 tournaments need to obtain a special “Team Membership Application†and roster. Please contact the Falcons registrar for assistance with those requirements.
7. No player rostered on a TIER II team may play on a House League team without the written approval of the AHAI Board of Directors.
