2008 - 2009 HOUSE LEAGUE PROGRAM

The Falcons House League program is designed to provide a balance of instruction, recreation, competition and fun. A staff professional is present for most ice sessions and provides instruction and organization geared to the abilities of each age level. Pre-season evaluations are used to select teams of balanced ability. All skaters receive equal ice time during practices and games. House league teams are coached by parent volunteers, who are required to attend coaching clinics conducted during the season.

Your child will be on the ice approximately two hours per week, usually on weekends (Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday). Complimentary House League clinics will also be offered on some Monday evenings during the regular season. Younger age levels receive more instruction and scrimmages. Older age levels get more game play. The Bantam House teams compete in the North Shore Youth Hockey League (NSYHL), a house team league. Peewee and Squirt teams may also participate in exhibition games with other house league programs on a rotating basis, if there is enough interest.

A complete set of hockey gear is required to play in the Falcons Hockey Association House League. Please go to the USA Hockey website at www.usahockey.com for a complete listing. In addition, players of all levels are required to wear neck guards. Also, Peewee and Bantam players/goalies must wear non-clear mouth guards as well.

All parents are encouraged to attend the annual Falcons Fall Social fundraiser to be held in November. The Falcons Fall Social is a great way to meet new parents in the organization, have some fun, and support the Falcons!
